Parents,
As the school year approaches an end, please be mindful of your child's attendance.
TEA has a 90% rule. Basically, your child must be in attendance for at least 90% of the time. For JH/HS this means 90% of every single class period in order to receive credit. Without credit, they are at risk of not being promoted. This is not TRUANCY. This has nothing to do with excused or unexcused absences. It is actually about actual time in class. We do provide opportunities for students to make up their time with Friday schools and other approved plans set up by our Admin and Attendance committee. There will be letters going home next week for students under the 90%.
