8th grade Student Council has been busy spreading the message of bully prevention. Today, they hid toy Halloween bones in the high school and Jr. High for the students to find. If you find a hidden bone, you receive a prize and a message that shares the message of "be a friend not a bully!"
It's GAME DAY for our Volleyball teams!
CHS Junior, Dean Yates, qualified for State at the Regional Cross Country meet this morning at Sam Houston State University! He will compete at State on November 1 in Round Rock. Congratulations, Dean! We are so proud of you!

National Honor Society (NHS) membership has been the true mark of student achievement for over 100 years, but it goes far beyond a report card. By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Each year in the fall semester, Colmesneil ISD evaluates Juniors and Seniors based on criteria set by a committee including Administration and staff of CISD. The new criteria set by this committee for the 2025-2026 school year are as follows:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2
-Teacher Evaluations
- Excellence in the 4 pillars of NHS:
- Scholarship
- Leadership
- Character
- Service

The "Road Kill Grill" representing Colmesneil FFA placed in the top 5 in all areas of competition yesterday at the Hardin County BBQ Cooking Competition. They were competing against 16 teams who have been competing for years. This was their 2nd competition. They made Philly brisket steak sandwiches and an apple dump cake.
