YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA®) FORM, BUT MAYBE YOU’RE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO.
Before each year of college, apply for federal grants, work-study, and loans with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA®) form. Your college uses your FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility. Many states and colleges use FAFSA data to award their own aid. Here's a review of what to expect: https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out
First, create your FSA ID, a username and password combination, that allows you to sign your FAFSA® form electronically. While you can get your FSA ID as you’re completing the FAFSA form online, getting it ahead of time and using it to begin your FAFSA form online or on the myStudentAid mobile app cuts down on errors and delays. Create your FSA ID here: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
The new 2021–22 FAFSA form is here! Some states and schools have limited funds, so don’t delay! Complete your application on the myStudentAid mobile app or online here: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
*(One thing you don’t need for the FAFSA® form is money! The FAFSA form is FREE, so if a website or mobile app asks you to pay to fill it out, you’re not dealing with the official FAFSA site or the official myStudentAid app.)
