You know you have to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, but maybe you’re not sure what to do.

Before each year of college, apply for federal grants, work-study, and loans with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA®) form. Your college uses your FAFSA data to determine your federal aid eligibility. Many states and colleges use FAFSA data to award their own aid. Here's a review of what to expect: https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/filling-out

First, create your FSA ID, a username and password combination, that allows you to sign your FAFSA® form electronically. While you can get your FSA ID as you’re completing the FAFSA form online, getting it ahead of time and using it to begin your FAFSA form online or on the myStudentAid mobile app cuts down on errors and delays. Create your FSA ID here: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch

The new 2021–22 FAFSA form is here! Some states and schools have limited funds, so don’t delay! Complete your application on the myStudentAid mobile app or online here: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

*(One thing you don’t need for the FAFSA® form is money! The FAFSA form is FREE, so if a website or mobile app asks you to pay to fill it out, you’re not dealing with the official FAFSA site or the official myStudentAid app.)

Hello 9th-12th grade students!

What if you could earn scholarship money from colleges every time you got a good grade in high school? What if you could also earn money for playing sports, participating in school clubs, being a leader, volunteering in the community, and more?

RaiseMe is a platform that helps 9th-12th grade students earn scholarships for their achievements in high school. Over 250 colleges and universities have partnered with RaiseMe, and award scholarships for activities such as grades, club or sports participation, even college visits. Partner colleges assign a potential dollar amount to certain achievements. For example, one college may offer $100 for an A, and another may offer $1000. RaiseMe shows you the minimum amount you’d be guaranteed in scholarships from a college if you are accepted to that school. This is free money for things you are already doing!

Email me or stop by my classroom (3B) if you have questions or need any help.

Sign up free at https://www.raise.me/join/colmesneil-jh-hs! RaiseMe also has a phone app!
