March 13, 2020
Colmesneil ISD administrators and staff are diligently monitoring on a daily basis the
effects of the COVID-19 virus. We have plans in place to keep our students and staff
healthy and safe. There have been no confirmed cases of the virus in Tyler County.
There is no need to be overly concerned at this time and you will be informed
immediately if the status of the virus changes for our community. We are asking that
each of you follow the protocols for preventing the spread of the virus. These
precautions are the same as we follow for any Influenza breakout.
1. Wash hands often with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
3. Stay home when you are sick.
4. Cover your cough with a tissue and discard immediately.
5. Clean frequently touched surfaces regularly with a disinfectant cleaner. Don’t
forget door knobs, light switches, refrigerator handles as well as counter tops.
6. Stay away from individuals that are sick.
Typically, the symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath but
other symptoms may appear.
I will update Facebook and our school web page frequently and will also send “Remind”
notices as needed.
Always making decisions that are best for our students.
